C A R I S S A L A M: Bratislava 2016

24 February 2016

Bratislava 2016

 Second stop: Bratislava.
After our visit to Vienna, we took the train to Bratislava, the capital of Slovakia. It is a small city that not many people have heard of, but we thought we'd have a visit as it was on the way to Budapest, our last destination. We spent 1 night there before setting off again, which is all you really need as it's not a big city. There were some tourist attractions that we visited, such as the Bratislava Castle, Primate's Palace, Bratislava City Museum, Slovak National Theatre, Roland Fountain, Church of St. Elisabeth, Most SNP, Michael's Gate and Slavín. So we managed to do a lot in one day!

 At a famous Slovakian pub.

This dish looks so cute - garlic and mushroom soup with bread.

The Church of St. Elisabeth - it looked like something from a fairytale! it was so odd to see it surrounded by normal houses.

 Slovak National Theatre.
 The floor pattern <3
Scary looking dolls outside a shop haha

Tried some Slovak beer - it wasn't too strong or bitter, so that was fine for me :P This pub we went to for dinner was owned by the same company as the pub we went to for lunch haha I think most of the restaurants or pubs here are owned by the same company as it's such a small city!
Overall, it was a nice place to visit although a bit quiet with not many people around. The next day we woke up early to catch the train to Budapest!
